Yeah, but Pleasantville would be worse since the addition of color throughout shows the citizens eventual exposure to new ideas and freedom of thought and the like. God that's a beautiful and underrated movie.

No, actually The Man Who Wasn't There would be worse because it was shot in colour and then distributed in black and white. Those wacky Coens!

But the color transition is what made Pleasantville what it is. Maybe, technically speaking, it would be worse for Man Who Wasn't There. But storywise, Pleasantville would suffer greater damage.

Starts off as a cheesy flick, but as it evolves it really drives home a strong message and the movie has an incredible story.
