I’ve been listening to alot of old Norwegian Black Metal lately. Possibly not a good thing, it sort of resurrects a past version of myself that was very negative and had alot of morbid (but not violent… Towards others anyway) thoughts and feelings but that stuff has a feeling that speaks to me, for better or for worse. I’ve been listening to old Mayhem. My mind goes really negative whenever I start listening to this stuff again but I guess we can’t escape who we are.

Modern black Metal, while sometimes still musically brilliant, will never have the same dark magic and truly sinister feel.
