Star Wars: The Clone Wars To Return With New Episodes — Page 2

Yesssssssssssss. The first Star Wars related news in years which I am seriously happy about. But please, for God’s sake, use the original scripts and original writers. Don’t mess it up. Don’t go too child friendly like Rebels or too leftist like TLJ.Please just finish the unfilmed scripts. Now I just wanna hope that the Disney streaming service will be available in my country.

The whole “revived” series looks much more film accurate. The Jedi now wear full robes. Before only had a variant of clone armor, due to technical restrictions.

Or because, you know, fighting in full-length robes isn’t practical. There’s a reason Jedi remove their robes before a fight. Besides, they had full length robes for Shaak Ti.

Based on production codes and whatnot, I’ve determined that the show is missing 52 episodes, 20 of which have been covered in other media. I also know every single arc, assuming that the two we have no episode count for are four episodes, like every other missing arc (they were clearly planning on making all stories that length; kinda like Classic Doctor Who, come to think of it).

I am happy to see this as I followed the show from the beginning and watched every episode , There were some hits and misses , but over all , I loved it . It actually showed Obi-Wan and Anakin as the good friends they were hinted at in the OT . It also felt a lot like the old Marvel Comic series to me .I just hope I do not have to get a Disney streaming subscription to see it . Does every damn show need its own streaming service now ? If that is the case , it will suck to wait but I imagine it will make its way to blu ray like Rebels did .If they do not do away with physical media all together soon .Damnit .

For me The Clone Wars was always hit-and-miss, featuring the introduction of Ahsoka Tano, the most shoehorned character in the Star Wars franchise (I wish Filoni had the balls to finally kill her off, but she’s his pet character) and as cool as bringing Darth Maul back was it still reeks of fan-fiction levels of writing. Still, we will finally get to see the series end as it should have years ago.

You know both of those decisions came from George Lucas, right?

Lucas no longer has any say in SW and we still have to put up with Ahsoka’s continued existence.

Your post comes off as trying to blame Dave for Ahsoka and the resurrection of Darth Maul. Both of which were in fact ideas straight from George. Though I will give you that Ahsoka’s fate is in Dave’s hands.

Never cared for this, but I’m glad that those who do are finally getting closure. I have a few cynical theories as to why it’s coming back, but I’m not going to be the Debbie Downer (or is that term sexist?) here.

Wow, somebody dislikes Ahsoka? Why? She’s one of the best if not THE best character from post 2005

She did suck early on.

Sincerely, someone who just rewatched the pilot movie.

I haven’t seen the early episodes in a while but you might have a good point, if I remember correctly I didn’t like her “bratty kid” personality from the early episodes, but she grew on me and after the time jump she became my favorite character on TCW (and to be perfectly honest also on Rebels)

I don’t dislike the character of Ahsoka per se, she’s a decently written character, though her hopeful idealism in Rebels got on my nerves (I hate overly idealistic characters in fiction, of which Rebels was overflowing with). What really annoys me about her is that her prescence and later continued existence makes no goddamn sense. She was Anakin’s Padawan and played a major role in many battles during the Clone Wars and against the Empire up until before the Battle of Yavin IV, yet she has NEVER been aknowledged in any of the live-action movies, and even worse, is revealed to still be alive in Rebels’ final season, plus she is shown to be interacting with practically every single major character in the SW franchise. At this point she’s like the elephant in the room.

IMO it would have been a lot better if Ahsoka had been introduced as the Padawan of one the many background Jedi Masters glimpsed in the prequels and have her story take place during the Clone Wars but removed from Anakin and Obi-Wan, fighting her own battles and occasionally crossing paths with Anakin and Obi-Wan. It would have expanded the Galaxy instead of having everyone knowing everyone.

But Ahsoka was Filoni’s idea.

She was actually meant to be a new Jedi’s master back when Filoni conceived the show as starring all new characters, and being overall much closer to Rebels. Lucas said it should be about Anakin and Obi-Wan, but liked Ahsoka, so they kept her. Filoni thought she should be Obi-Wan’s apprentice, but Lucas said she should be Anakin’s.

So basically Ahsoka is one of Lucas’ ill-conceived ideas that has been allowed to exist past the point of any logic instead of being dropped. While I have previously stated that I don’t have anything against the character of Ahsoka I think she absolutely needs to be killed off, but as we’ve learned from Rebels, Filoni doesn’t have the balls to do so even when it’s the logical thing to do. I once told Amy Ratcliffe about Ahsoka’s necessary demise and she reacted like I told her “I hope your sister dies” or something like that. She even thinks Kanan’s death was risky. Please. It was logical.

Or we could pretend that the animated shows are their own thing and sleep better at night? 😃

Yeah, I posted in the Star Wars Rebels thread that I’m done with Filoni and his risk-averse sanitised stories. As long as it has Filoni’s name in it I will completely ignore it.

You’d better hope he doesn’t replace Kennedy, as some fans are wishing for these days.

Anakin and Ashoka have great chemistry, and his teachings directly impact her growth as a character. Another Jedi or Obi-Wan just wouldn’t have been the same. It’s especially tragic considering we all know what happens in Ep 3.

Although I am annoyed they kept her around for rebels. Why has she never been mentioned before? She should of died in Order 66, or against Vader.

If that were to ever happen I would quit Star Wars for good. Good thing those “fans” aren’t in charge.

One does not simply quit Star Wars. It would be easier to quit the mob. 😉
