^ not one for the footballing purist that Super Cup game 😉
Why is that?
Atletico aren’t known for their attractive football - they grind out results, and it’s not easy on the eye to watch at times. However, it is very effective, they are masters at it - and they were underdogs for many years, so fair play to them for playing that way (big respect a good organised defence). For Real, - of late they seem have become somewhat of a flat-track bully - easily good enough to beat most teams - yet when they play a similar quality team that resort to somewhat negative tactics, and rely heavily on a piece of brilliance to get them the win. The quality of flowing football isn’t there as it once was. Again, nowt wrong with that - each to their own etc - yet not pleasant to watch at times.
Masreille and Liverpool - generally try and play open attractive football - almost to a fault. Both overplay at times when they should see a game out (take the sting out of game) or defend as a unit for a period of the game and then go again. It makes for an appealing spectacle - even when it all goes wrong and they’ll lose - you’ll see some quality footy, goals and a bit of excitement. This is often reflected by both teams’ fans - loud, passionate and can intimidate an opposition side at times.
So, from a ‘footballing purist’ point of view - and that Mala and me support both those clubs - if our teams had won we’d have met each other in the Super Cup - and it would be a pretty enjoyable game or spectacle to watch. Real vs Atletico - not so much. Just my opinion, of course… 😃
Smart ground Philadelphia has,
What does “smart ground” mean?
A ‘neat’ ground, a cool ground - with a superb view of the bridge! Seems modern and purpose-built - so better suited for a soccer fan. You can see it may likely have a soul when the fans are in it; cheering their team on.
