Beyond things like fire being hot and ice being cold, I don’t really see what truth is objective. Hell, even those examples are relative.

I think I suggested this to you in the past (maybe over PM), but I think you should look into quality assurance/quality control jobs. That’s what I do - I work at a plastic factory, collect samples from the production lines, run tests on them, and release good material for shipping or reject bad material. It pays decent, doesn’t require any special degrees or certifications (at least my factory doesn’t), and you never have to deal with customers, just a few coworkers. And you get to yell at people when they insist their product is good but it isn’t and you need to shut down their line.

Most places like this hire through staffing agencies I think, but you can find some job postings online I’m sure. Doesn’t need to be the same industry I’m in, either - lots of manufacturing and assembly type places need quality control techs.

Worth looking into IMO.

I did look into that but the only jobs I could find were about thirty minute drives away from me, which is too much driving. I’ll just wait until I’m bankrupt and get another night-shift job that I wouldn’t have needed any kind of degree for and continue in that cycle. I don’t really see any need to try and accumulate money since I live extraordinarily cheap and have absolutely no responsibilities.

Don’t give up on your life, even financially instead get job coaching and figure out what career looks best instead of selling short your own great potential.

I drive 20 minutes to my job, and I don’t live that far away from it.

If I wanted a job in the largest city near me, that’s an hour commute on a good day.

That’s exactly what I have. It sucks sometimes, but that’s how it goes.

I just spend the drive yelling at you people.

Coaching? No way, and I have no potential. I don’t really see what’s so bad about giving up. I’m still self-sufficient.

I quite possibly have the worst road rage and driving anxiety on the planet.

Giving up is the worst thing to do for yourself and you do have potential everyone does, that’s what you do with it that counts. Your choices are yours to make but don’t make the kind of choice that you could live to regret.

I know you think what you’re saying is helpful, but I don’t think it’s something none of us have ever heard before.

What other people consider to be accomplishment are not what I want. I don’t want a career, I don’t want a family, and I don’t even consider those things to be impressive or even necessarily good, and I don’t really regret too much anyway.

I can’t stop thinking about her. I’m losing sleep, but I can’t do anything about it because she’s out of town for awhile. I guess I’ll just be an insomniac until I can let her know how I feel.

We’re having lunch tomorrow. I’m terrified. I’m like a fish out of water in these situations.

A day back from the hospital, my mother came down with pneumonia. Now she’s back in the hospital, back in intensive care, with a breathing tube back down her throat, which is probably what caused the infection in the first place.

Geez, I’ve no idea how I’d react in that situation. Good luck.
