I like how you refer to it as your canon. It really wraps in a nice bow.
It’s a self contained saga - no tv, books or comics. Everything you need to know should mostly be in here (hence why I created two more clone wars movies and a rebels movie). That’s why there’s 14 movies, at 2hrs - any longer and it’s too much. I changed a lot of stuff that would negate the continuity of the other properties though. Like in Clone Wars Season 6 - I HATED Yoda’s going to degobah and the priestess’ etc… In MY canon, Yoda is meditating in Ep III (before Obi Wan returns with Padme and the droids) and Qui Gon speaks to him and tells him to go Degobah (‘The answers you see seek, are here’). The CW Season 6 arc doesn’t make sense cuz in Empire R2 acts like he doesn’t know where they are or who Yoda is… It pisses me off lol so I made Qui Gon tell him to go there - makes more sense doesn’t it? So at the end between Leia baby and Luke baby he lands, Qui Gon greet’s him and takes him through Degobah (EXPLAINING force ghosts and medichlorians etc) and leaves him at the cave to face his fears. Then we go to Luke (who is the real hero of the next trilogy) and it ends as normal… We don’t NEED to see Yoda’s experience in the cave because we see it through Luke in Empire (hence why I cut the cave out of TLJ - nothing happens and we’ve seen it already in Empire).
Plus all the little touches that make it mine…
- I moved the Vader breathing at the end of TPM to ROTS
- I added a post credit sequence after Jedi of Snoke calling out to come find him deep in space
- I added Yub Nub to the Jedi end credits as a (now ruined) surprise
- Qui Gon appears at the end of Jedi with the others (I assume Anakin was powerful enough to help give him a form plus I just think he was thrown away after TPM and NEEDED to be there. Everything IS his fault after all lol)
- I added Qui Gon speaking with Vader in ROTJ. As Luke and Vader’s bond strengthens - and why I put back the opening cave scene - the Emperor’s hold on Vader weakens thus allowing Qui Gon to ‘communicate’ with ANAKIN. That cave scene is great because it really sums up WHAT the movie is all about - a father and son. Vader is trying to communicate to Luke across the galaxy. It shows how strong their bond is. I LOVE this scene, it should have never been removed. Lucas didn’t want to spoil the ‘surprise’ of Luke showing up, where as I say it WASN’T a surprise but a ‘it’s about damn time!’ moment lol This way you’re NOT just waiting for him to show up, you know he will so you can really enjoy the opening Jabba stuff instead of being impatient or thinking it’s slow or boring…
- I added a scene from all three preqs to the end of Jedi so we SEE what Anakin is thinking during the electrocution. I don’t believe Vader was just like 'don’t hurt my boy!, lol, Luke represents Padme and EVERYTHING that sack of sh*t in a robe beside him TOOK from him. I also added Quigon asking him ‘Do you believe you are the chosen one?’ and then yelling at him ‘Anakin’ ‘No…’ ‘ANAKIN!’ 'NOOOOOOO!'So it’s really more satisfying when he SPOILER tosses him over the railing.
- I added a Qui gon cameo in Empire (another ruined surprise lol). I took out Yoda’s saying ‘No there is another’ (cuz he acts like Obi Wan doesn’t know - when HE helped deliver the babies ffs) and added Qui Gon instead. OW: “That boy was our last hope…” QJ: “No…” Quigon’s belief in Anakin being the chosen one is the catalyst for everything. I love how even in Jedi, he STILL believes in Anakin. I also removed all the child killing in ROTS so we feel empathy for him when he burns on the beach (one of the most hard to watch scenes ever put in a mainstream family movie) and we can believe in his redemption. It was ok before the preqs cuz we didn’t know WHAT kind of bad things Vader had done but killing a room full of kids is just WAY too much. One of many, many bad decisions Lucas made with the prequels. Vader/Anakin: “Tell your sister you were right about me, except for that room full of toddlers, you were right…” Sorry, that doesn’t work for me lol 😉

in these movies. You don’t really need anything else, so I feel this is MY Star Wars and I hope others enjoy it. My cuts are blueprints as to how to fix things (in a perfect world) as opposed to fully polished fan edits. I did a bit of rescoring here and there and added my own crappy visual effects lol so it’s not always pretty - but it works. The STORY comes FIRST. That’s what MY canon is about - making the story connect all the movies in every way.
Aside from the rebels and 2 extra clone wars movies I edited all 10 films simultaneously so I never lost track of where I was, what I was doing and where i the saga I was and where IT had to be… I hope I stayed true to George’s vision and only made it better (I think he would be extremely happy at the end of Jedi).
I like to think Anakin is a different person in my cuts. You like him as a kid (and believe in him, cheering him on at the end), you understand and feel the frustration of ‘teen’ Anakin (you don’t hate the whiny, angry, stalker), believe in his and Padme’s love (their marriage really works better this way. God I love how Ep II ends) and really see and feel how he’s DUPED in ROTS (he doesn’t just decide "Ok, I think I will turn bad now’ and off with Mace’s hand).
The frankenstein ‘Noooooo’ scene in Ep III should mean something and NOT be something to laugh at. He just lost EVERYTHING - and Anakin’s main problem is - the same one his son faces in TLJ - he cannot let go. He can’t let go of his mom, can’t let go of Asohka, can’t let go of Padme - and finally that one, coupled with the baby pushes him over the edge… The best way put it is maybe that - the theatrical trilogies are one story of anakin and one of luke and I tried to make it all seem like anakin’s story. If that makes any sense, that’s the best way to put it…with a neat little bow on top 😉
