The last time (and only time) i ever saw/heard the censored overdubbed versions was when they all aired on BBC1 back in 1999. However it was a mix of both using censored overdubs and editing lines of dialogue out entirely.

A friend of mine always quotes the edited versions (especially “when this baby hits 88 mph you’re gonna see some serious stuff”).
"Right now the coffees are doing their final work." (Airi, Masked Rider Den-o episode 1)

The, “son of a butthead” and, “stinkin’ punk” alterations really bemused me when the BBC aired the edited for television version years ago.
Speaking of which, here’s a compilation from the BBC airing:

“Logic is the battlefield of adulthood.”
Just directly capping and watching II now and its censored (the scrot line cut out). Also the old Sky Anytime HD (no logo, very slightly filtered for compression purposes) and Canal+ (has logo but best picture quality overall) caps have better grain retention than the one CH4HD is showing, it looks slightly Dnr’ed but not to the levels of the Bluray.
Thanks for the info. Out of curiosity, did it have the “Coming Summer 1990” text for the BTTF III promo at the end that’s present on the ITV broadcast but not the home video releases?
“Logic is the battlefield of adulthood.”
Just checked the cap, no it doesn’t have the text, neither does the Sky Anytime Hd.
That’s interesting. Cheers for checking.
In that case, I wonder if the version aired by ITV is the “true” BTTF II theatrical release.
“Logic is the battlefield of adulthood.”
I’ll dig up the Canal+ shortly and check that one as well but from what I remember that didn’t have the text either.
Note: Just checked, the text is missing from this as well.
FYI, I’m uploading right now the excellent non-DNR “Sky Anytime HDTVrips” of part 2 and 3 over at the spleen. Along with the DCPrip of part 1 I’d say it would make a pretty good set until something better comes along…
Very nice!
TheHutt you care to sync the german audio to the Sky versions?
I hope someone, here, made an audio capture of the BTTF-Live-to Projection concert.

Sync’ing that to this version would make a real keepsake–especially with the crowd-reactions on it.
Please help me find DCP Back to the Future . Very interesting to see. I have full frame DVD remux , if anyone needs .

If you found the DCP on Spleen then there is also HD versions of parts 2 & 3 that were recently uploaded. They are not as good as the DCP… but much better than the official Blurays.
I am proud to say I remember the 80’s!

they are probably based off of the 2002-2003 DVD transfers, personally i have no issue with them, despite the grain! I wish i had an invite to myspleen, and blutopia!!1

I don’t know if anyone cares still, but I found a full capture of BTTF 3 from 1993 with censored overdubs. If anyone wants it for whatever reason, feel free to PM me.

Back to the Future trilogy coming to 4K in 2020.

No word of it being a remaster or rescan but worth a mention.
Sorry for the thread ressurection but can someone hook me up with a link to the DCP?
I kinda lost the joy of this movie watching it on my bluray. It’s lost its lively spark. 😃
The new 4K picture scan has been already used on Netflix for Part II. Though it’s still heavily filtered (by Netflix itself), it shows much more details and has better colors than the old master.
