I suspect the real answer is because it has a more distinct look at that small size. DSI might just look like an odd circle. DSII looks like a death star even when 8-bit.

I love the logo and simple, but effective, layout of the site.
So many sites have too much going on that it is difficult to find the actual information you are looking for, and for that information to sink in.

Tighten Up and then turn it all the way up to 11!
