I added Raimi’s Spider-Man movies when the box set was on sale. I never actually watched the third one (beyond the meme clips) which everyone says is shit anyway, but there are apparently two cuts of it, the theatrical and the redundantly named “editor’s cut.” Which one should I watch?

I like Spider-Man 3. It’s really not awful, just not as good as the previous two.

editor’s cut? I’ll need to see to this! 😃

I’ve heard it’s marginally better, but not dramatically so. It doesn’t suddenly make it a good movie.

I haven’t seen it, and I haven’t seen the theatrical since…well…theaters, so I’m not exactly an authority, just parroting what I’ve seen about it.

You should watch it, it’s a lot better than people say.

Can’t speak to the “Editor’s Cut,” but I assume it’s better somehow?

Just got a few new Criterion BDs - The Manchurian Candidate, Scanners, and Mulholland Dr. Gotta love that Barnes & Noble 50% off deal.

That means my somewhat measly Blu-ray Criterion collection thus far is

  • Seven Samurai
  • The Samurai trilogy
  • Throne of Blood
  • The Seventh Seal
  • The Hidden Fortress
  • The Manchurian Candidate
  • Tokyo Drifter
  • Scanners
  • Mulholland Dr.

I only have one Criterion DVD, The Rock.

New addition to my Criterion blu-ray collection, the Qatsi trilogy. Been trying to get this one for awhile.
