I saw Superman III on a double feature with Wargames back in '83. Which is interesting as both movies revolve around computer hacking.

Still trying to fathom how Superman has to lose his powers before he can sleep with Lois, but evil Supes can fool around. 😛

I mean, I haven’t seen the movie, but both gifs just look like some fun goofy humour. I doubt it’s the kind of movie to take seriously (if judging by the first two and four, which I have seen).

Unlike the original film, the humor is all over the map. The film doesn’t know whether to be light hearted or self parody. And Clark Kent’s former high school rival being a mean drunk one can imagine slapping old flame Lana Lang around is really out of place. It’s a wonder evil Superman didn’t sneak off to Smallville, kill him, and make it look like an accident. 😉
