Ranking the Star Wars films — Page 154

I love watching the Holiday Special, when I’m in a “special mood”, for example too drunk to do anything useful and not drunk enough to want to sleep.
I have seen The Last Jedi exactly once. I tried to watch it for the second time a few weeks ago but I gave up after a few minutes, I just can’t bring myself to watch it for the second time. And I can’t watch till Solo comes out on Blu-ray so that I can watch it for the second time.

From what I’ve seen, the biggest sin that the Holiday Special commits is not that it’s bad, but that it’s boring.

Yes, I don’t think I would be able to watch it sober.

Cobb, there is a reason I put “true Star Wars fan” in quotations.

Yet you still feel like you need to watch it.

You guys know Rifftrax has done the HS, right? The most painless way to watch it.

if i ever do watch more than the first 15 minutes, this will be how it gets done. That and probably lots of beer / a good friend or two joining me.

But as Dom Frink said, it is just so painfully boring.

Hi all,

  4. The Force Awakens
  5. The Phantom Menace
  6. Revenge of the Sith
  7. Rogue One

  10. The Clone Wars (Animated TV Series)
  11. Star Wars Rebels
  12. The Last Jedi
  13. Star Wars: The Clone Wars (animated movie)

No. Friends are a good thing…you should try to keep them.

I would just count the Clone Wars movie as part of the series, since all it really is is a repackaging of the first four episodes. On the topic of The Clone Wars, why’d you rank it so low? Weren’t there more good episodes than bad ones? Or did you just stop watching after season 1 or 2?

I’ve tried while intoxicated several times and still can’t get more than halfway through without fast forwarding. It’s nowhere near the worst thing I’ve ever seen, it’s just so insufferably dull and boring.

When I was forced to watch the prequels in a Star Wars marathon, I made everyone watch the Holiday Special first. It was a great idea.

How is making a bad night worse a great idea?

This was at least a year ago, so whatever Despecialized Edition was most current, and the Grindhouse ROTJ. If I did it today, I would definitely choose to use 4K77. Not a knock against Despecialized, but it’s due for an update.

I actually watched the movie way after the series. As for the series I’ve seen them all but over the course of a year or two. I need to go back and watch them again and they could possibly move up. I like them a lot, but there were spots where they got a little redundant and just dragged on. I do remember thinking at the time that some of them were some back stabbing SOB’s, lol

Since there are two more movies I need to update my list.

From bottom to top

10: Attack of the Clones
9: Rogue One
8: A New Hope
7: Revenge of the Sith
6: The Force Awakens
5: Solo
4: The Last Jedi
3: The Empire Strikes Back
2: Return of the Jedi
1: The Phantom Menace

Now, this list is strange, yet it is just based on how each movie makes me feel, not on quality as a film.

After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.

I’m very close to swapping 9 and 10.

The first time I’ve ever seen a TPM #1. The diversity of opinions never cease to amaze me.

I think we’ve seen that before. The combination of TPM at 1 and ANH at 8, however…

Wow, mind explaining your ranking? Legitimately interested if you’d like to share.
Is TPM #1 due to the nostalgic feeling you get from it? Not saying that’s a bad thing, it just makes me curious as the the literal opposite-ending of AOTC if that’s the case. Hope I’m not being presumptious.
