Aren’t titles/ranks/etc. supposed to be capitalized when used in conjunction with a name?
Yes, when the title is being used as a part of the name, like: ‘Lord Vader, you promised…’. However they are not capitalized when saying things like ‘My lord…’, or ‘The evil lord Darth Vader’, since the lord is not a part of the name, and only references the group to which Darth Vader belongs.
