This was as lazy as I thought it would be.

First, the good. I liked how they incorporated the way Lando pronounces Han’s name. I breathed a sigh of relief when the comic relief characters died. Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover were good, not great. When following after Ford and Billy Dee’s iconic portrayals, that’s enough to make it work I guess.

Now, the bad. The rest of the humor from everybody else was dreadful. Actually, all of the dialogue was pretty bad. Darth Maul is pointless. Also Crimson Dawn, get it, cause Darth Maul is red. Everything that made Han, Han, happened in a couple months. How he got his name, his gun, were really stupid. But Han doesn’t really act like the Han we know in the OT. We’re expected to believe he’s the same guy by the end of the movie?

The weird. So, this takes place before Star Wars, which was heavily influenced by World War II, right? Uhh… what came before WWII? World War One! Here’s trench warfare! But at least they executed it well. The kiss Han’s mentor got. Why? A casual French kiss in Star Wars? Okay, I guess…

I just feel completely indifferent to it. I didn’t expect anything, and I received nothing. So, mission accomplished?
