My whole theater clapped and laughed frequently, my brother and I were actually outliers.
YMMV but the theater I was in, which was only like 80% full didn’t applaud at the opening like most SW films but was clapping and squealing when Maul showed up. It and Lando abandoning the crew got the loudest pops.
