I don’t remember Chewie having subtitles? I remember Han having them when he spoke Shrywook.
Maybe that’s what I was thinking of…regardless I think that it would actually be funnier for Han to just be making gargling noises with no subtitles, and yet Chewbacca picks up on it anyway.
