Question abut the Sweedish star wars releases.

I’ve only ever seen the movies on dvd and blu-ray so I’m wondering is the films, when shown in theaters in Sweeden, also have the crawl in Sweedish. Did Sweeden also get a re-release after Empire with the subtitle added? What abut the special editon in 97? Was that in theaters?

According to Wikipedia ILM did do the crawls in other languages, but it doesn’t say anything about Swedish specifically or which films they did translations for.

They translated crawls for “main” markets that dubbed the film. Countries that used subtitles also had subtitles during the crawl. Sweden belongs to the latter group.

The SEs were released in theatres in Nordic countries.

DVD and BD technology enabled CGI crawls for different languages - none of them is theatrical, maybe not even the English ones?
