I’m just waiting for the part where Trump and Kim reveal the big surprise that makes this time different.
SPOILER:

Until they actually meet, NK has done nothing different than they’ve done a bunch of times before. The only difference so far is that the President said yes.
You mean aside from dismantling a nuclear test site, which satellite imagery shows they’re doing?
Yeah, this was a site that had already collapsed and killed over two hundred NK citizens.
Kim is just trying to make a concession that had already been conceded.
There were questions about parts of the facility still being operable. And questions whether the demolition of the site was effective or just show. It was a lot of show, but that isn’t meaningless in setting the stage for actually disarming. Now that Trump has canceled, Kim’s “concession” will be pointless unless Kim shows his belly.
The blue elephant in the room.
Show his belly? Is this international diplomacy strip tease? I don’t want to see either one of them undressed! 😛
Where were you in '77?

That’s just more of the same crap that North Korea has been doing for decades.

It’s horrific imagery but maybe that’s what’s needed to achieve world peace.
The blue elephant in the room.
The idea of Trump and Kim strip-teasing each other is possibly the most vile and horrific image that has ever entered my brain, but if it helps international diplomacy and eliminates pointless posturing about nuking each other, then I’m all for it.
I don’t know, some things are worth dying for and my innocence is one of them.
This one can be filed under both “Why cops suck” and “Why the NFL sucks.”

I’d like to see a strong center that pushes outward and squeezes the loons on both sides.
What is this impossible utopia you describe?
Keep Circulating the Tapes.
END OF LINE
(It hasn’t happened yet)
I don’t want a strong center. I want a strong left that actually stands up to the right. The loons on the right actually run our government while the weaklings on the so-called left just stand by and watch.
The Person in Question
Already tried that.

wrong thread?
No, he doesn’t want a strong center or left or right, he just wants to laugh at it all.

I have been thinking that this is actually a big problem in politics today. People are so cynical that it’s taken for granted that government is broken and civic-mindedness is dead. Journalism is all but extinct, and truth is whatever is shouted the loudest by those in power. With this mindset, the best thing to do is look out for number one, since it’s a sucker’s game to adhere to any values or rules at all.
I think it would be really great if we started valuing things like truth, justice, and the American Way again, whatever those things mean to each individual. At least then when things go wrong we can at least say that we tried our best instead of settling for our worst.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)

To be perfectly honest, social anarchism looks very appealing to me. That places me solidly on the left.

Fully agree.

That’s fake news. MAGA 2020.

Reminder that the alt-reich are some of Trump’s most ardent defenders. (He never denounced them.)

Trump didn’t renounce Spencer and Obama didn’t renounce Farrakhan. Both are wrong.

Gotta love whataboutism.
“Whataboutism” is a logical fallacy when the purpose of the argument is to deflect from the original topic of debate and potentially shift the blame to the other side. I’m saying both sides are full of it.
That’s the beauty of dropping party affiliation; you no longer feel the need to defend “your side” and all bullshit is laid bare.
