I think it’s just a corporate way to throw a bone to people asking for real stories involving sexuality while simultaneously not actually doing that.

as long as it doesn’t cost them money.

I wondered about this, whether there will be people who might have seen the movie but now won’t because they assume this to be actual canon, costing the film money over it. Of course, then there are people who wouldn’t see it but now might…

More like the screenwriters trying to be “subversive” and get some street cred, while the suits pat them on the head and let them get away with it as long as it doesn’t cost them money.

It’s actually their way of pretending to be subversive. We also don’t know if it’s even the screenwriters or not. For all we know it isn’t even in the film. I don’t know how it would cost any money, though.

Yeah, I wasn’t referring to the film’s content, just some recent interviews with Glover and Kasdan where they discuss it.

You and me both. What’s your complaint?

The blue elephant in the room.

My windows 8 computer that I did all my movie watching and video gaming on just died. Fuck. At least the computer I use for projects like music recording and editing is okay. And it’s older!

Please tell me you have all your music and editing backed up.

I don’t really have anything work in progress right now actually.

You don’t back up your music you’re done with?

Well in the extreme hypothetical that the computer with the original files breaks, my own physical cd of the finished product breaks, and all the links to digital copies I’ve shared go down, probably of the hundreds of physical copies that other people have had at least one of those people didn’t immediately throw it in the trash.

Still, if I were you I’d probably have cloud backup from Backblaze or something like that.

I don’t trust other people with my stuff. Two external hard drives to back my stuff up.

i used to keep everything on an external hard drive, and nothing on my pc. unfortunately the hard drive stopped working and i lost all of my files. so yeah, backing up is always a good idea. i should’ve backed everything up on the pc. and to think that that happened twice… ugh. i stopped playing call of duty because of it.

PC main source, backup one in case PC fails, backup two in case both PC and backup one fail (or in case house containing PC and bacukup one gets bombed by ISIS).

I didn’t really lose any files that are irreplaceable I’m just bummed because now I temporarily don’t have a way to watch movies on my big projector.

It’s the off-site part about cloud backup that I like. Protects against on-site property damage. Also, it automatically uploads changes to files without dicking around with backing up manually.

JEDIT: Although I suppose one could use bittorrent sync instead to backup to offsite, if that was the real issue. I use Backblaze for my server because it’s cheap, it’s easy, and available storage is unlimited (which is nice when I have 4.7 TB of data).

I just fucking like clouds. Look at those fluffy bois up there. The only thing that would make them better is if they had smiley faces like in super Mario Bros.

If ISIS bombs both my house and my office, which are many miles apart, I suspect I have larger problems than losing my edits, music, and pictures.
