I just got back from a social gathering. All anyone can talk about is anime and it made me want to kill myself.

I don’t think I’m going to go to another one, but then I wouldn’t really have any way to socialize at the moment.

I actually met a really nice person recently at a social gathering that I’ve been enjoying quite a bit.

I’m really happy for you, considering how difficult that is.

My social circle’s so small I don’t even.

But every now and then I manage to find a sort who’ll put up with a few hours of together time just long enough for me to burn back out and remember why I can’t have cool friends.

K. Let’s have this ride.

It took two and a half decades, but it happened.

Anyone have tips for speeding along an Achilles tendon injury/strain?

Author

Speeding up getting one or healing one?

Author

Healing. And saying “don’t walk on it” doesn’t help because I can’t afford to miss work, and I walk around 5-7 miles a day at work alone (by necessity, not choice).

I’ve got tomorrow off so I won’t be doing shit but icing it and watching TV. On the plus side I’ll finally be able to watch some fan projects I’ve been putting off and give people feedback…

Have you considered using one of these?

This might be more practical and affordable.

Someone at my office had something similar for a while after he broke his foot.

I don’t mean I walk 5-7 miles outside. I work in a factory doing QC testing in the lab. I have to walk to all the production lines to collect samples throughout the day for testing.

Though now that you mention it, I am forklift licensed, and there’s usually one or two not being used during my shift…

Yeah, that might not be a bad idea actually…

Oh nice, I rode around one of those at work yesterday, always fun.

I figured he was in a factory, and those were always around when I worked in one.

I wouldn’t know, but cool if true.

Not mine, sadly. I like the walking usually…but not for the last few days…

Someone had a bike left over after the kids grew up and thought, “What the hell can I do with this now?”

Mowing a big yard with a push mower with a broken self propel is a huge pain in my regular sized ass. And before one of you old timers comes at me with “back in my day mowers didn’t even have self propel” yes I’m well aware of that and would prefer one of those in this instance. This is a really big and beefy mower that eats everything, but it was clearly not designed to ever be used without the self propel. It’s fucking heavy. And I usually walk 20 miles or so a day at work if my step counter is to be believed, so it’s not that I’m not used to exercise. I’m just under the halfway point and I’m already spent. Good thing I love my grandma
