Cherish your family, you’ve only got one.
Not all family is worth cherishing.
Yeah I know. It just hit close to home for some reason at that particular moment and I said something dumb. The familial bond, particularly between siblings has always been important to me for some reason.

It’s best not to care about siblings. All it does is upset you when all they do is fail to live up to expectations.
This is really hideous advice. My siblings are some of the only people I like. In fact, one of my siblings took care of me and for a short time practically raised me when I was a little boy even though she was still just a kid herself. I know not all siblings are great, and some are horrible, but I find it kind of disturbing to only value people based on their ability to meet expectations. I don’t think anybody is, or should be, obligated to meet anybody’s expectations. I know I shouldn’t be talking since I’m mean and misanthropic, but that phrasing and the idea of disregarding family because they might fail your expectations is just extreme. I know that I’m a horrible pile of garbage and say horrible things about the human race on an hourly basis, so I’m not trying to be judgmental or a hypocrite, but I’d urge you to not think that way anymore because it doesn’t sound very happy.
