I've been surprised to find nothing about the Live 8 concerts being broadcast on PPV or anything like that here in the US. Will any of you gents in the UK be capturing the broadcast on BBC? I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.
Luckily I will actually be there (well, the London one anyway) and I have friends recording it on VHS, but nothing digital unfortunately. I expect it will be available to buy on DVD by christmas though. So it's not on TV in the US at all? That's incredible.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering
I was there, it was great. I also have the whole thing, all 10 hours of it, on PAL VHS if that's any use to anyone? If not, I fully expect them to release it on DVD by christmas, so don't worry.
I was on my way to pick up someone, listening to the whole thing live on the radio, I was listening when Pink Floyd came in and played (set list: Time, Money, Wish you were here, confortably numb), that was great... Unfortunally I didn't have the time to watch the presentation yet, I gotta see it...

From what I heard, Pink Floyd's performance was interrupted in the middle by MTV advertising. They did that throughout the entire concert where they would interrupt songs in the middle for commercials, interviews, etc.
Here's an article... Pink Floyd steals the show at Live 8 - scroll down to the paragraph under the second photo to see about US and Canada broadcasts.
