Hey guys, I’ve been following this project for a while but just downloaded on my Mac, but am having some problems downloading. I used the multiple part RAR download method, and I followed the steps, downloaded updated all of the software necessary, and had all of the files from the free rapid downloader in my folder. However, when i tried to extract the files using Unarchiver and one other extractor for Mac, it said that the movie couldn’t be played. I’m not sure what to do, considering I followed the instructions. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

What program are you using to try and play the file? In my experience Quicktime is pretty hit or miss with these MKVs. Try downloading VLC player and try on that. I’ve had better luck with it.

To download the files I’ve been using FreeRapidDownloader, to extract I used the Unarchiver, and to play it I used QuickTime Player because it was already on the mac, but i will try VLC player, thanks. By the way, does it make a difference that I’m downloading the AVCHD files rather than MKVs?

Darth Lucas, tried using the VLC Player, and it worked! Thank you for helping me out, now I can watch the original release of Star Wars for the first time! (I’ve only ever seen the Special Edition)

It’s worth noting that the avchd versions are meant to be burned onto a DVD.

But they also serve well as properly encoded (as opposed to transcoded by some rando) version with a smaller file size. Just need to dig the m2ts out.

I just rename the m2ts extension as MKV, then this reads on all my devices.

I am proud to say I remember the 80’s!

Generally much better to just remux instead of tricking your software, but yes. 😃

Also makes the file slightly smaller.

And you can ditch extra audio tracks you don’t need if you remux, too.

Hey guys, I had the old 2.0 version so I just grabbed the 2.7 but I’m having an issue with tsmuxer crashing around 37.7% and getting this error message “Matroska parse error: invalid H264 NAL unit size. NAL unit truncated.”

I tried remuxing it with mkvmerge but I get the same issue at the same spot.
do you know how I could fix this?

What format did you get it in, and what container are you trying to mux it to in the end?

I grabbed the mkv in multi parts though jdownloader. I had to unzip with 7zip because winrar was giving me an error. I tried to tsmux into an iso but got the error so then I got an old version of mkvmerge to recreate the mkv to see if that would fix the problem but it didn’t.

The file itself should work fine with tsmuxer from what I recall. I don’t think it needs to be repaired by rerunning it through Mkvmerge.

Maybe there is something wrong with one of your files? Should probably verify the checksum.

Seems I had some corrupted files. I downloaded everything again and it worked with no issues. Thanks for the help.

I just set up FRD for all three films under the ULOZ link. Question, how do I skip all the CAPTCHA pop-ups? It looks like I will have to do it for every single pastebin link. I recall a long time ago that It wasn’t part of the process and it was indeed from ULOZ. Is there a way to bypass that part and have it all start downloading or I just deal with it?

Have you tried updating the ULOZ database in FRD?
From memory, in the FRD settings there should be a way to update the details of any download sites you are interested in. Make sure ULOZ is ticked and try to update. Hopefully that will stop the captchas appearing.

I’m sure this is buried in a thread somewhere, but can someone tell me how the isolated scores for the Harmy’s editions were created?

Cheers!

Not entirely sure, but I think from a CD source (“Music of Star Wars” or some such thing). You can tell it’s not exactly the same source as the film because there’s tracked music in the trash compactor scene that didn’t get used in the film. At least until the THX PAL DVD releases it didn’t… 😕

Still very nice tracks, and quite useful!

Empire’s isolated audio track comes from ABC’s remaster unless I’m wrong.

I haven’t yet seen the 4K77 project, but I read the thread where Hairy Hen upgraded his 70mm soundtrack recreation.
Just curious, any plans for a possible version 2.8 to include the new soundtrack, or will that be saved for a later change?

Personally, I was blown away by the previous version and that’s why Harmy’s is my current go to version to watch. I can’t imagine an improvement, but I have faith in Hairy Hen.

Hello everybody, I just found out about Harmy’s Star Wars DE through a video on YT, so I’m a total noob at this. I have a comment and a question;

I downloaded the HARMY DEED IV MANUAL through a Download Manager app on my iPhone (took about 15 hrs to do so through ULOZ). Now that I have it saved on my iPhone, it keeps asking for a password in order to “extract files”. I typed “harmy” and it started extracting the files. But then it just asks for the password again without being able to view the movie. My question is, has anyone successfully downloaded the movie through an app on their phones and been able to view the movie? Or am I better off doing it through a computer?

4K77 and Despecialized are in sync so if you really need it now, you’d just have to demux and remux a few files.

I don’t have an answer for you about your phone (I don’t know if you managed to get the whole movie, if you have space to extract it, if it even extracted to a file, if you have the means to play it back, etc). But yes, you should use a computer. If you did manage to download all of the parts, just transfer them over to a computer to extract them. You can worry about trying to play back the file on a phone later, but you might need or want to convert it first.
