I think whoever first coined Leia Poppins was only thinking in terms of Disney owning Star Wars now.
Having said that, if Miss Poppins gets blown out into space in the upcoming sequel, the circle will be complete! 😛Funny you should say that - Mary Poppins does visit space in later books in the series, so maybe that shouldn’t be completely written off as a possibility! 😄
Also I’m Australian, for what it’s worth - not sure about the cultural awareness of Mary Poppins in the US, but certainly the image of her is still a recognisable one.
I think she’s better known as a Disney character in the U.S. than a literary one.
