Most disappointing

  • way too similar story-wise to the original trilogy
  • The Last Jedi completely negates many story points from the previous movie(s)
  • chaos behind the scenes (dumping George as the “executive consultant” and ignoring his planned stories, constant dumping of directors, even if they shot already the almost complete movie etc.)
  • no explanations (after 2 movies I have no clue who the resistance is and who the new order are)
  • no likeable new characters, in TFA I really liked Rey and Finn, but I honestly don’t like them in TLJ.

Disagree on all counts.

Most satisfying

  • the look. After seeing a trilogy filled with green screen footage poorly composited over CGI backgrounds it was a PLEASURE to watch real sets, real locations, real props etc.
  • a nice combination of practical and CGI effects - I was pleasantly surprised by the fact they used a puppet Yoda
  • cinematography - TLJ is IMHO the most beautiful looking Star Wars movie

Hard agree on all counts, especially the last one there.
