I finally caved and got a smart phone this year, but I don’t trust it to do anything beyond simple web browsing. I won’t even log into the forum with it.
Your wifi will not reenable itself (from being disabled) by itself, but it will connect if it is enabled and detects a wifi SSID you’ve connected to before (if you told it to).
oh, but as long as software has bugs, and apps have bugs, and apps have the ability to control wifi, and bad actors exist, then yes, wifi essentially can ‘re-enable itself’. You trust the manual too much i think.
I don’t see why enabling wifi is a big deal anyway. I would imagine disconnecting when you don’t want to would be a bother because it uses data.
Your phone is not going to connect to a random SSID it hasn’t connected to before. You can even tell your phone to stop searching for whether any new access points might be in range and notifying you about it.
