Well, what can I say, that was one hell of a marketing plan by DC, let's kill Superman, overpublicize it, and then get him back as if nothing has happened.

You don't even know half the story.

mind telling us? I for one, would be interested to hear.

Hopefully ADigitalMan can go more in depth to this (because it really is an interesting read), but basically I believe this film was 1st greenlighted back in 1996 and has been trying to be made ever since. It seems every year a new script would turn up and a new director in the chair. They've gone from nearly everybody to try to play the role of Superman from Nic Cage to Josh Harrnet. Nobody wanted the role and it seemed this film was doomed from the start. That's where the Superman vs. Batman talks 1st came out before Peterson left the project. Then somehow (I still have no idea how they got so lucky) made a stroke of genious in getting Brian Singer to do the film. Suddenly, he found his Superman/Clark Kent and the supporting rolls all filled up quickly by quality actors (that nobody wanted to play before Singer came aboard).
