Things that you would like to see in Star Wars that have not happened — Page 4

Star Wars is either A) the heroes journey or B) a space opera or C) a fantasy posing as sci-fi. Maybe these ideas have to be combined, maybe not. You can probably push outwards and make a Western or a crime saga without taking too much away. I don’t think AT-AT walkers, lightsabers or Imperial Stormtroopers are what makes it “feel” like Star Wars. These are just set dressing and hollow fan service.

I think in theory you could make any sort of movie as long as there is some sort of reference to the force. If you made a movie with a 0 Force content I think you’d be really stretching the definition of a Star Wars movie.

Although Rogue One probably could have dropped all the force connections with the Monk Etc and I still would have thought it was a Star Wars movie so who knows.

Yeah I’m not sure, you probably just need some sense of a crappy feudal system and a bunch of weird creatures to have that classic Tatooine atmosphere. Peasants, outlaws, warriors, bandits. However there’s also the WW2-in-Space idea that comes into play in the second half. You could build from either point to make a new story.

I mean I don’t think the Solo movie is going to need the force, but it wouldn’t at all surprise me if it has it anyway.

Can’t wait for the “Han used the Force… Just kidding, it’s a trick” joke.

“The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant to the power of the force”

How about in the Old Republic, there’s a scene where a thousand Jedi and Sith are at war. All the Jedi force push in one direction, all the Sith in another. The rupture is so powerful, the planet splits in two.

I want to see a standalone movie where the imperial officers that survived the events of Return of the Jedi get tried and hung for war crimes.

At the very least, I’d like some kind of Disneyland attraction that revolves around that.

A Star Wars “Judgment at Nuremberg?” I’d be down for that.

Because nothing screams “Disneyland” like a public execution! Can you imagine Mickey Mouse hanging out beside so nooses or guillotines?

Yeah, I think that’d be interesting. I’ve mentioned it on here in years past before.

Short answer:

Yes.

Reminds me of the suicide mouse creepy pasta. And some of the videos “recreated” to go along with that are legitimately disturbing.

Nah. Make this into a movie instead and have Vader join the Rebels, no questions asked.

I would genuinely love to see a drama about the trial and execution of the imperial officers. It’ll never happen, but it’s the kind of creativity I’d love to see from the stand-alone films.

Seems like the kind of thing that could genuinely make it into a live action tv show at some point.

Is that the story with white armored Vader? I saw a toy of that once many years ago and always regretted that I didn’t buy it at the time.

I have a silver Vader toy that I got when I was a kid and never opened, assuming it’d be worth a lot down the road. Somehow I doubt it is.

Maybe, it depends on the tone they go for.
