So I did some reading on how to use the newsgroups for binary downloads and I grabbed a trial copy of NewsBin Pro (seemed like it had the best reviews) and connected to my ISP's (Rogers.com here in Canada) newsgroup server. Being the first time I had used the newsgroups I set up NBPro to subscribe to alt.binaries.starwars and had it download all posts, this ended up being like 234,000 posts dating back to early May of this year. So I'm reading through the posts and low and behold what do I see there, just like Karyudo said, but the TB releases of SW SE. And not only are they there but they're complete! So I start to download and I'm only getting like 60KB so I decide that if my ISP's newsgroup server still has the files then for sure the commercial usenet servers must still be hosting them. So I do some reading and decide on NewsFeeds.com for 2 reasons, they get excellent reviews (rated #1 for usenet services in many reviews) for both retention & speed and they accept PayPal for payment (doesn't hurt that they're rates are pretty good too). So I grab a 25GB/30 days package and set off to download the SE TB set at 380KB from NewsFeeds.com and what do you know, they don't have the files! In fact not only do they not have the files they're retention doesn't go back more than 2 weeks on a.b.starwars! Yes, I do get excellent speeds from them but they're retention is only about 25% of what my ISP offers for free. So I'll try and use up my 25GB on new stuff from a.b.starwars and then let my service expire since my ISP (even though its newsgroup server is slow) offers better retention and I don't have to pay for it. Lastly, I don't know if its just my DVD player or what but all three of the TB releases have this annoying green line flashing at the top of the screen just above the letterbox portion of the picture, has anyone else experienced this video quirk with this set? Other than that they look and sound fantastic, 2 thumbs ways up! Anyway, thank you to Karyudo for pointing me towards a.b.starwars for this set and thanks to everyone here for your comments and suggestions as they are much appreciated. Also, a big &%$@#& to NewsFeeds.com for having crappy retention on a.b.starwars! Oh well, live and learn.
