Citizen Kane wasn't that great a movie, in my opinion...yet for many it's the perfect movie. We can't simply say the idea of a "good movie" or any piece of art being good comes down to just our personal opinion. There has to be a universal standard at work, just as there has to be a universal standard in life. If we simply say that "since it's our personal opinion it's good then it IS good"...the world would be a scary place. Michael Jackson would be allowed to continue molesting kids (although our Courts have seen to that...), our Supreme Court will be allowed to continue to take more freedoms away from us since it's "good" for them (my land is my land!), polygamy would become a standard form of marriage since it's "good" for the guy to have three wives, it would be ok for adultery since it's "good" to the guilty party, and it would be ok and "good" for nations to invade other nations simply because they want more land, oil, wealth, or what have you (note- Bush didn't invade Iraq for oil, whatever CBS tells you).

Do you see my point? There has to be a standard to everything, some sort of rule we can judge and compare things to. I didn't like Citizen Kane...however, it has an excellent story, excellent filmatography (sp), and really great acting.

As for the Prequels...so you didn't like them, that's great. So you did like them, that's great. But are they really that great movies? No, they are flawed compared to others. Whether you enjoy them or not is up to you.

Just try not to get sucked into the realm of thought that says that if you like it, it's good for you. That's just ridiculous.
