I just find it important to shut down any and everybody who tries to undermine the importance of gun control regardless of what other less important issue they bring up. I’ll use Elliot Rodgers as an example. He was a misogynist but there’s a 100% chance that no amount of lecturing him about toxic masculinity (whatever the fuck that is) would have prevented his rampage. The only things that would have prevented his killing spree would have been proper gun control to prevent him from getting access to the weapons he used to kill and injure half of his victims, followed by better mental health care in this country to notice that he was a deluded sack of shit beforehand and throw into an asylum. It’s not about video games, it’s not about art and entertainment, it’s not about gender, it’s about guns being accessible to violent and deluded people. And that’s all that America’s gun problem has ever been about.

And if we’re going to talk about toxic anything I think a more accurate term would be “toxic humanity” because human beings as a whole are pretty defective and toxic.
