Well it sounds like everyone’s going to get a crack at it in a few weeks, at least in the US. I’ve been seeing stuff about upcoming 70mm screenings for the 50th anniversary beginning in mid-May.
Would see again, even though the showing I went to was only a few months ago. An all time classic. (plus it was almost sold out and I got a bad seat).
Did the same thing with Lawrence two summers ago. Saw the DCP at the Coolidge in June, then found out they had a print in Somerville in September and couldn’t not go for it.
Saw that DCP at the Brattle, which is a theater I generally love though didn’t feel right for an epic of that scale. Been itching to see it on 70mm, missed a chance recently, hopefully I’ll get another soon.
