I wish I didn’t destroy most of my art from the before times, as a cry for help, it too was quite imaginative, luckily I won’t do that anymore, unless its expecially crappy and I put no effort into it. I have a photo of some of those old drawings and could probably make a new version of a couple of them some day.

So the new trend I’m seeing lately is a VHS filter applied on videos, but then they don’t do anything to the audio and it annoys me. Like, the fidelity range is way too wide for videotape.
I feel like this is something that would only bother me.

I don’t know. VHS and Beta Hi-Fi both had pretty good dynamic range. They can rival analog Laserdisc tracks in fidelity.
The VHS filter effects I see are often more glitch ridden than a real videotape ever was. The biggest mistake I see when someone is trying make a video look vintage is they still shoot 16:9. There were some 16:9 camcorders in the mid 90’s but not many.
