Did anyone find the Prequel .TS files from the Cinemax broadcast?

Found interesting news lately...

  • It seems there is a 1997SE recording of an Australian broadcast; hope to find more info on this
  • There were WOWOW broadcasts of all the episodes, in 5.1; even if in "mere" MPEG2, these files (if found) could potentially maybe better than any other ones available until now - according to other WOWOW caps like ROTLA trilogy, Aliens etc.

Sadly my projects are lost due to an HDD crash… 😦 | [Fundamental Collection] thread | blog.spoRv.com | fan preservation forum: fanres.com

All I know of WOWOW is their airing of the xxxHoLic movie which I turned into a multilingual version, and that's in damn good quality for a satellite rip.

UPDATE: added some WOWOW info - don't know how much useful this can be, though... any Japanese speaker here that would like to perform an accurate search to see if these files are available anywhere?!?

To whom it may concern: I have now in my HDD a PRO7 recording of EP1; don’t know if it’s the theatrical version, because it was recorded using an online service, and the file extention is .otrkey; sadly, don’t know how to decrypt it… any hint?

You have to get an account and download their decrypter.

The date should be in the file name. Could you post the file name here?

Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000

Actually, I have two files:

Star_Wars__Episode_I_Die_dunkle_Bedrohung_15.02.20_20-15_pro7_165_TVOON_DE.mpg.HQ.avi.otrkey (1.35GB) I don’t know which version is this

Star_Wars_Episode_I__Die_dunkle_Bedrohung_13.06.07_00-25_orf1_120_TVOON_DE.mpg.HQ.avi.otrkey (918MB) this is theatrical version

I tried to decrypt them via the software found on the site, but I’m able to decode only recorded programs broadcasted after the date I registered there, today… if someone was registered before one of the previous file date, and would like to send me their login data via PM, I will be able to decrypt the files, and will release them into myinternalorganthatisnotmyliverbutanotherthatyouknowforsure
Thanks!

What are the highest quality versions of the 2004 SE? I think it’s the Sky recordings. If so, could anyone PM a link to those?

  • Star Wars 6 Return of the Jedi.ts (16.59 GB = 17399141 KB)

I am currently downloading these 3.  We shall see how they are.  I could not find any of the prequels from Cinemax though.

This will be interesting for sure …

😃

Are those the DVD versions? And are they the highest quality rips available? If so, can I please have a link?

Only Ep. IV of the Sky Broadcasts is derived from the 2004 Master, ESB and ROTJ are 2011 versions.

Oh. I see. Thanks. By any chance do you have links to the Ep IV broadcast? And as for the other episodes, the Premiere broadcasts are the DVD versions? If so, do you have links to those too?
Thanks in advance.

Andrea, I’m wondering if you info on the HDTV version of Rogue One you mentioned on your UAR thread.
Cheers

Sadly, no internet connection during the last days… 😦 indeed, I’m in the phone now; the very moment I’ll grab it, I’ll post here more info!

Updated first post with the new Rogue One HDTV.

I wonder if there is a similar one for EP7.

Also, IIRC, there were cropped versions of at least the prequel trilogy, broadcasted many years ago; there is a VERY SLIGHT chance that, even if cropped, those retain a bit more image on top and bottom, as RO HDTV; if someone has them, please drop me a PM, thanks!

I’m sure there are some HDTV recordings floating around of EPVII with the IMAX scene inside it; it will be nice to get file info of the untouched file.

EP II and III: as they were filmed with a digital camera, in 16:9, it “may” be possible that an open matte version of these could be available as an HDTV recording; if someone is aware of this, please post a comment here!

There’s also the ITV broadcasts too, if you’re interested? Previously, they were cropped to fill 16:9 but in the past 2 years, at least, the films have been shown in their OAR and appear to have been sourced from the same masters as the Blu-ray and post-Disney purchase.

If you can provide more info, I’ll add them.

Also, just received a confimation that a broadcast of EPII was in 16:9 (with SFX cropped); it will be great to have it capped, along with EPII (if in 16:9 as well)!

Great! 😃

Unfortunately, I don’t have all of them. I recorded Episodes I, II, II and V during 2018.

The broadcasts all share the same technical stats:

Video: H264 - MPEG-4 AVC 1920x1080 25fps.
Audio: AAC (mp4a) 48000Hz (TESB also includes a 2nd audio track with a visual impaired commentary.)
Subtitles: DVB Subtitles.

TPM: 4.074 GB
AOTC: 3.758 GB
ROTS: 4.595 GB
TESB: 4.434 GB

The file sizes would be even smaller if the adverts were removed, so these are very likely on the lower end of quality, compared to the other HDTV recordings, but here’s some samples for you to judge.
