WSJ, this is just nuts. It’s really hard to take politics seriously these days.

As hard as it is to take seriously Trump supporters who use “fake news” unironically?

So, who’s going to volunteer for the Space Force? 😛

Five bucks says someone will actually go down to a recruiting office and try to enlist in the Space Force.

Looks like another Dem pickup in PA, with a big swing of 20 points from 2016, despite being massively outspent. The Republican explanation seems to be that their guy was a particularly lackluster, unappealing candidate, and that may actually be true. For example, would the Dems have picked up Alabama had the Republicans not selected a particularly revolting human? Probably not.

Democrats can’t hope to keep this up indefinitely. What are the chances that EVERY Republican candidate will either be a vacuous empty suit, completely unqualified neophyte, and/or some sort of depraved monster?

Oh, nevermind.

That teacher has no business teaching anyone gun safety(if I understand gun safety enough). I could be mistaken, but I doubt it. One of the rules of gun safety is that you keep your finger off the trigger unless you intend to fire. So unless the teacher actually intended to fire into the ceiling, he should not have had his finger on the trigger. Without his finger being on the trigger, the gun is going to go off.

What the hell was this teacher doing teaching them anything about guns? It’s a school not a shooting range and I doubt the subject he was supposed to officially be teaching them was on gun safety.

I would like know what the hell happened with this kid that got hit in the neck? Why did no one, not teachers, not other faculty, not other students, not cops, not even the kid himself notice he’d been hit and was bleeding? That makes no sense. How is it no one noticed the bullet fragment in his neck and blood on his shirt and at the very least tell him to go to the school nurse? Why didn’t he notice himself and go to the nurse or tell someone he needed help? I don’t get it.

Why even shoehorn in this little bit of apologetics. You know full well (I hope) that this was absurd and incompetent. You don’t need to understand gun safety to know that a person shouldn’t be waving a gun around on school property and if he’s dumb enough load it and fire it (even accidentally) inside then he certainly is not competent enough to carry a gun, much less be a police officer. This is the shit I’m referring to when I complain about how there is almost a complete lack of standards when it comes to who gets to be a cop.

Huh?

You throw in little phrases like “if I understand gun safety enough” and “I could be mistaken, but I doubt it,” and it’s irritating because you don’t need to understand gun safety at all to be 100% certain that this man has no business waving a gun around on school property and teaching gun safety. Just like you don’t need to “understand police procedure” to know that shooting unarmed hostages is wrong. You often have a stubborn reluctance to condemn things like this, especially if negligent or criminal police officers are involved. I just wish you’d show a fraction of the outrage for things like this that are actually dangerous that you show for people expressing themselves by kneeling during the national anthem.

Do you know anything about standards to be a police officer? We can find innumerable bad examples from any profession but that doesn’t indicate an almost complete lack of standards.

This cop/teacher obviously did something wrong. Anyone can have an accident (which doesn’t prove much) but the nature of this accident suggests recklessness. The way the school handled it is really bizarre.

The blue elephant in the room.

Why do you keep telling mfm to “knock it off” when he’s making valid points about your posts?

He doesn’t need to know any of that stuff.

This cop/teacher obviously did something wrong.

He did multiple things wrong.

He had his gun out in a non emergency.

I am betting he was not given permission to be teaching gun safety.

He was probably neglecting the subject he was supposed to be teaching.

He put put his finger on the trigger at a time when he wasn’t intending to fire.

He was teaching gun safety and seems not to much about it himself.

In your opinion.

Also in my opinion: telling someone to “knock it off” when they’re arguing a point rather than making personal attacks is childish.
