I like Warb’s consistency in wanting politicians to be forthright.

This is a story that mostly amuses me. Warren is such a pitbull and looks for any pretense to tear apart those she disagrees with. She identified as Native American in professional settings and even Native Americans have been miffed by that. Nice seeing her get a taste of her own medicine. Like most politicians she doesn’t want to admit mistake or apologize.

I have a modicum of sympathy because I know people who strongly believe themselves to be Native American and associate with that culture. The trouble is that it is based on a vague family story and after several generations any amount of Native American DNA may be undetectable.

Warren made a fool of herself in holding herself out as Native American but it’s not the biggest story. She doesn’t have the skill of Obama to turn it into a seemingly profound teaching moment so it will haunt her.
