So I just watched it all the way through, and… I wasn’t the hugest fan of the ceremony. It felt like they were giving Star Wars the star, not Mark. I didn’t like neither George’s nor Harrison’s speeches. Then again, George only worked directly with Mark once (yes I know he was on set for TESB and RotJ, and almost co-directed RotJ, but still) and even though it was the most important movie of his career, it was just one movie. It’s not as if George had all that many amazing memories and stories about Mark - he talked about some things he remembered from 40 years ago, and you couldn’t expect more from him. Harrison too, and Harrison is known for not being the best speaker in the world.

So while I do think that Harrison and George had to be there, I think they should’ve balanced it by bringing in some people from his Batman career, like Kevin Conroy, for example. They’ve been working together for almost 30 years now, and I think he’d have had more to say about Mark than the 2 Star Wars guys that spoke. Maybe Paul Dini, too, since he ended up writing some of the best Batman stories that Mark played the Joker.

Mark deserved it. I’m so happy for him. It was about goddamn time. But I did not like the ceremony itself. And, of course, I miss Carrie.
