It wasn’t retconned, it’s pretty ambiguous. There wouldn’t even be anything for ady to do about that.

Ok fine, I double checked the celebration 2017 Filoni/Hidalgo interview, and they don’t confirm it but they heavily imply it. And by look of Rex in the finale, it’s pretty much as good as canon.
Personally, I don’t care either way. I enjoy my Star Wars in different mediums, and I have no problem enjoying them independently or as part of a whole. We all have our own tastes and are capable of enjoying things for different reasons.
Never the less, I still think we should nerd-pressure Temuerra Morrison into appearing in Ady’s Endor shoot for RotJ:R haha
