Hopefully he’ll end up homeless.

Aren’t all weapons dangerous?
Shit, you could probably beat a guy to death with a Sunday New York Times, couldn’t ya? If you really cared enough.*
*Line stolen from George Carlin.
Didn’t Carlin also point out you could threaten someone with a sheet of paper?
I’m not sure about that. I remember he said that a guy with really big hands could strangle a couple of flight attends, one with each hand! “So why do they let a guy with big hands board an airplane?” Hilarious!
There is a old story I’ve heard about a small dog getting flattened by the Sunday edition of the L.A. times.
😭

Hopefully he’ll end up homeless.
Hopefully he’ll end up having to join a gay prostitution ring to survive.
ITFY
.
Hopefully he’ll die soon.
…Did I go too far? I know the rightwing doesn’t like jokes.
The Person in Question
I’d like him to suffer first.

IMO he’ll just do a fake repentance spiel before he dies like George Wallace (not sure whether it’ll be about being a sex predator or a racist or just a strong candidate for world’s worst mammal).
Even his horse isn’t returning his calls. 😉
Where were you in '77?
Obviously the best solution to this is to give her a gun while she’s teaching.

The really funny thing is that she doesn’t look very white. She could easily pass for a minority. In all seriousness, though, this is a tragic reminder that, much like becoming a cop, it takes no intelligence or basic human decency to become a teacher. We need to raise the standards, keep the good ones and fire the bad ones, and only hire competent candidates.

That would be a bad idea. We do have a horrible 1st Amendment that allows her to do her podcast without repercussions like being fired. Time to repeal that amendment too? Maybe we can avoid that problem in this case if she expressed these statements in school (as she said she did and lied to the principal) or discriminates against students. But do we ever want white supremacists in our schools?
The blue elephant in the room.

She can totally be fired for that, can’t she? Just not jailed or legally barred from making and distributing her podcast?
She can be fired. Are we really going to advocate for white supremacists being employed as public school teachers now?

No. Public schools, or any other government employer, can’t punish people for their beliefs and expressions. If she brings it into the classroom that’s another matter, which may be the case here.

It wouldn’t surprise me if she actually is of non-Aryan ethnicity.

I hope nobody here does that. But we do have a 1st Amendment.

We do, but our children are also required by law to attend public school (unless you can afford to send them to a private school, or homeschool), and kids can’t choose their teachers. That’s why shitty ones or demented and insane ones that are in favor of genocide need to be fired. We’re not talking about a DMV employee. This bitch is in charge of children.
The Person in Question
I want to comment on a very common talking point in the rightwing where they act as though someone coming under fire and potentially being fired by their employer for extremely reprehensible comments or actions as being a violation of their 1st amendment rights, when no one is asking to legally oppress this woman. People just don’t want their children to have to suffer through a year of being educated by people like her. By the way, she teaches “Social Studies” which I think is what they call Civics and History these days. I’m sure her racist and genocidal leanings have an impact on the way in which she communicates this subject to students. All that said, I do get that a government institution, like a school, will have a hard time finding a way to get rid of her without risking a 1st amendment violation.
The Person in Question
I didn’t even say should be fired. I said she should have a gun so she can protect all the white kids from the black men that are coming for them.
I’m still of the opinion that Nazism is no more a political belief than cannibalism is a dietary regimen. And I’ve got no qualms about doing whatever’s necessary to keep society safe from cannibals, and no concern that there’s a slippery slope argument that will one day lead to vegetarians getting targeted.
moviefreakmind, agree it’s not the kind of person we want teaching kids. But, as you now admit, when the government takes adverse action like firing that implicates the 1st Amendment. Whether some voices deserve oppression doesn’t make it non-oppression, as I’d think you’d agree if she were fired for being a Hindu or transgender.
I raise the point to show how inconvenient and even dangerous protections of liberty can be. I think the school will have an easy time getting rid of this particular teacher, as I said. And that’s a good thing. But if you really think white supremacists should never be teachers, we gotta do something about the 1st Amendment. Your “common right wing talking points” preface is irrelevant.

I think the existence of the second amendment and the way it’s been interpreted is a pretty solid showcase of this as well.

I think we’re getting to a good place where Frink wants to arm white supremacist teachers and I want to repeal the 1st Amendment. This is the stuff that makes it so worthwhile to debate politics. Still, I think guns for hunting (even if I cannot understand the appeal) and self defense (even if I don’t feel the need for one) makes more sense than being compelled to keep white supremacist teachers in our schools.

It absolutely is the case here.
In the same episode, Volitich boasted about bringing her white nationalist beliefs into the classroom and hiding her ideology from administrators. She said that when parents complained to the school’s principal about how she is injecting political bias into the classroom, Volitich lied to the principal and said it was not true.
“She believed me and backed off,” she said.
Volitich also agreed with her guest’s assertion that more white supremacists need to infiltrate public schools and become teachers. “They don’t have to be vocal about their views, but get in there!” her guest said. “Be more covert and just start taking over those places.”
“Right,” Volitich said. “I’m absolutely one of them.”
