When does ROTS actually end it's run on the cinemas everywhere??

i think it depends on where you are and each individual theater...the big LA theater (arclight) loses it in its main screen tomorrow (Thurs) but it will probably continue on smaller screens, for example.

No, why?

I think the first run theaters have it for atleast 12 weeks (that was the max contract). Then the second run theaters will get it for weeks, I'm sure as it is making HUGE money.

Not soon enough!
"Drink the Kool-Aid. Wear blinders. Cover your ears. Because that's the only way you can totally enjoy Revenge of the Sith -- the final and most futile attempt from skilled producer, clumsy director and tin-eared writer George Lucas to create a prequel trilogy to match the myth-making spirit of the original Star Wars saga he unleashed twenty-eight years ago. Fan boys, of course, have convinced themselves otherwise. So have several critics, if you go by early reviews."

Oh God, I remember when it was at the theater I ended up buying for 3 months, and that was when it was a second run show.

If you are hinting at what it will make, it will probably end up at $384-$400 million. If it were to get released in IMAX, which may happen if Batman and WOTW don't do as expected, it will definently get to $400 million. That's all domestic, of course.

I watched it for the third time last week, and as I left the theater there was a small line with 20+ people waiting to get in... It was still on some theaters this weekend... I think it'll take one or two weeks before they pull it off...

Well, Episode 3 is now officially down to 988 screens (through this past weekend). And it has grossed 373M. To take #7 all-time highest grossing film (domestic US box office), it needs 4M more to take LOTR:ROTK. It can do it, but it won't go any further than that. Next film is the original Spider-Man at 403M. SW doesn't have the steam to do it. It only made about 1.6M this past weekend and is ranked #11 in the weekend BO.

Here's the all-time list.

Hater. C'mon - it's a frigging Star Wars movie, and more than likely the last time we will ever get to see a new Star Wars movie in cinemas.

It doen't matter anyway because it's so late now you won't be able to see a night screening you'll have to settle with the dull matinee with kids everywhere.

Well, I'm not too sad that it's the last new Star Wars movie in cinemas because, in the interest of good taste, I see no reason to milk this cash cow any further, which is why I'm not too happy with the TV show. I am sad, however, that it will probably be the last time to see a Star Wars movie in a widely-released theatrical experience, because nothing beats that excitement.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Well it looks like the Sith has left all my main theaters down here. Might be able to find it in a dollar theater, but doubt it. Oh well, will now have to wait for the DVD release.

It has the steam for ROTK. Should only take another 2 or 3 weeks. It doesn't have the steam to go much beyond that, though. Maybe it will break 380M. Maybe.

Two months to the day it opened and it's down to one screen in my area. I want to see it on the big screen a second time before the new movies push it out completely. PM and AOTC magically bypassed the bargain theaters here for some reason.
Remember the good old days when Star Wars played for an entire year? *sigh*

Wow, that's pretty cool with the action figures and everything.

And I knew that they lasted for that long, I just don't *remember* it, because I was not yet alive.
