It’s more profound than one might think at first glance. The idea that the rules of the physical universe bend toward a certain result is compelling. We also might consider it in terms of maximalization: where matter arranges itself on the most fundamental level in order to create the most complex and varied existence possible. The universe already tends towards maximum entropy or disorder.

But for a reason? What reason? If the physical world exists in a particular form (down to the precise nuclear forces) in order to bring about a reality that contains consciousness, maybe the entropy and disorder naturally follows from that.
