Converting an MPEG from PAL to NTSC

I've been hitting google for things like that, or some kind of free trial on something to get my PAL SE DVDs (which are now saved in MPEG format) converted to NTSC so that I can edit them.

Anyone know the quickest, painless way to do it?

I never had the nerve to make the final cut.
