An editor with a dumb username
Maybe you can rework the actual ST into a sequel to this, with Luke vanishing in his search for his sister. Though he doesn’t find her, he finds her daughter Rey. It’s an idea I toyed with for my own edits, but eventually decided it deviated to far from canon, not to mention it robs Rey of her powerful backstory of being not related to anyone famous. However, since this edit clearly doesn’t care for canon in the slightest, I’d say it would be a good idea for it.
I can’t wait to see your progress on this edit! IMO, Return of the Jedi needs some major tweaks in order for it stand up to the other two movies in the saga, and by the looks of it your edit might make this film as good as it deserves to be!

Interesting idea. Snooker is competent in reworking movies so that might just work with the resources we may have when (if he ever decides to) he gets to the ST.

Honestly, I don’t understand why people are so enamoured with this scene.
Because people go nuts over deleted scenes, no matter how poorly done or why they were deleted in the first place.

My opinion on deleted scenes unless it pushes the overall story don’t put it in the movie.
I need help with the crawl. I don’t know what to put in it that would be directly relevant. There isn’t a second death star so most of the original crawl is gone. Perhaps talk about how the rebellion is on its last legs and is desperate to strike a blow against the Empire? But then how do I tie in the Jabba sequence.
I think it would be best if the final paragraph said that Luke had finished his preparations to rescue Han Solo, then panning down to Tatooine.
I don’t know, I’m thinking out loud.

This isn’t a final Draft this is just a pitch so he can get a general idea.
Wouldn’t it be a good idea to take most of the Crawl establishing the imperial capitol and why the rebellion might destroy it and give more information on that end of the story? Considering you probably will be lacking for elaboration upon their attack in the regular film. Which kind of brings me to a question, what do you plan to do with the briefing scene? That could be a place to help lay out some expositon.
How about make the imperial capitol courrsuant?
I tried to do this, but didn’t work:
1st paragraph general state of the galaxy: it’s in darkness; post esb; weak regrouping rebellion.
2nd paragraph setup of the plot: assault on Endor;
3rd paragraph setup of initial first few scenes: luke jabba etc,
i ran into the same problem with tying paragraph 2 to 3

My opinion on deleted scenes unless it pushes the overall story don’t put it in the movie.
I see them as events that canonically happened (unless they directly contradict other scenes) which the director decided weren’t needed from a storytelling perspective. Just like any other scene in the movie, a faneditor may chose to leave it out.

I strongly disapprove on putting the blame on Lando for the Han’s capture. He was being held at metaphorical gunpoint and ordered to betray the Rebels.
