I expanded my scope a bit. I am working on creating good synchronized subtitles for the reviews too.

I noticed a few small places you can hear audio cutting in the original. The listing of directors in Part 1 is where this is most noticeable to me. I have a few other places marked as well. I think I am going to see if I can clean up those few places in the audio. I am probably too much a perfectionist sometimes.

I am Lucasing the reviews a bit because I am making minor changes like this that I don’t think distract from the overall. Like in part one I made a realistic star wars opening crawl rather then the text scroll over the original.

Or when constraints on recompositing the original shots. I changed the cheerleader photo overlay used in part 2 because I could not find any matches for the one used in the video. It just looked really bad with the low res version ripped from the video.

I am making notes of anything I change so people will know. My goal is to be as close to the original as possible with a few minor things like the new crawl. Is this going to far?

I am also playing around with various denoisers to see how the results are on original footage used. QTGMC in avisynth seems to do a pretty good job of noise removal and noise stabilization. It is really slow though.

I can plug in better quality images or better original video(if I can get anything from RLM) to my the avisynth scripts really easily. I would just need to calculate some new cropping values in some places.

Anyway I talk too much. I am having fun working on this project even if it is tedious at times.
