I am not sure teachers walking out for one day would anything. Perhaps if they all went on strike and refused to come back until gun legislation were enacted, but not just one day.
Also again, I am bothered by the anti-thoughts and prayers thing.
- some (like me) really truly me them.
- it is possible to offer thoughts and prayers AND pass needed gun legislation.
- even if the needed gun legislation is passed, the families of this tragedy is would need our thoughts and prayers, their loved ones would still be dead or wounded.
I understand everyone wants something done stop these things, so do I. But it shouldn’t become wrong to offer our sympathies to the families of the victims when something like this happens. I realize some (politicians especially those on the right) do it for show and as an excuse to do nothing. But others (like me) aren’t doing it for show or as an excuse for anything. When I offer my thoughts and prayers it is honest and heartfelt and I really do pray for victims and the families for that God gives us all(including the politicians) wisdom to prevent these things in the future.
