Until someone cracks ULTRA-HD copy protection, no.

Im doing color correction to remove the nighttime blue, but that’s with my digital video of the fullscreen VHS copy of mine, lol. It’s for my “80’s Synth edition” fan edit. The thread is here about a year back I think.

Wait, if UHD BD copy protection still isn’t cracked, where are all the 2160p 10bit HDR “BDRemux” torrents I’ve been seeing lately coming from?

It’s cracked, just limited drive support and even more limited software support.

Bumping this post cos I want this done too. I was thinking of doing it myself but I have very limited experience. I can colour correct, but I do not have the ability to fix the robots lasers to make them purple again, etc.

It would be nice to have an ultimate version of Terminator 2 with the detail of the 4K disc, but the colour timing and grain of the Lionsgate transfer. I also have the theatrical stereo mix which can be played as a 4-channel stereo mix on compatible receivers for the original theatrical experience.

Great attempt to revive a little rusty thread, I’d be interested as well and could throw the 5.1 “alleged” CDS mix in the AC3 container from the first US DVD onto the pile.

However, since you’re referring to the “detail” of the UHD-release which indirectly is hinted to only require some grain to be added for the theatrical experience, I want to put up the question about that detail in the first place, as exactly some of that very detail of course got lost in the process of the retarded filtering. Not that frequency-response-wise there wouldn’t be more to resolve compared to the former HD-variants, but for me overall it is somewhat a sad and frustrating “pick your poison” - case.

I predict already that True Lies will suffer a similar, silly fate, although I’d love to be proven wrong. I’ll never get how one can be (or become) so ignorant of one own’s formerly great work. But, yeah, the whole world is holding its breath for Avatar 17 … way more important.

I recently saw a 35mm print of Terminator 2. I should have taken notes but a few things i can remember

  1. The laser bolts in the opening termination battle were purple like the old master

  2. All metal hospital scenes were cool, even the daytime ones. More like the 4K master than the old one.

  3. The daytime LA scenes like the canal chase were all nice and warm.
