Why would you want to go back in time and decide not to watch it? Just to save the 2 plus hours?
It’s not about 3 hours lost and you know it 😉 (if you include waiting to get in and then sitting through the adverts as well then it’s at least 3 hours).
I enjoyed the movie despite being extremely critical of it, but I would tell anyone to go watch it regardless, simply because it’s one of the most beautiful Star Wars movies if not the most beautiful one. Plus Hamill, plus several incredibly amazing scenes that are all stuck to a (unfortunately) not very good plot.
Being the most beatiful looking SW movie to date and witnessing an awesome performance by Mark (despite what they’ve done to his character) are two things I can definitely agree, but they’re pretty much the only nice things I have to say about the movie.
