Night Shift

Someone on the forum mentioned it. Thought I’d give it a watch. Really great. Shame it’s not on BD.

A friend of a friend and fellow cinephile who I hadn’t hung out with one-on-one before came over tonight to watch some stuff in the “definitely should’ve seen this by now” category. We watched Michelangelo Antonioni’s Blow Up and Terrence Malick’s Badlands. I thought Blow Up was a visual treat but not much else. I adored everything about Badlands, though.

That sounds like a great time.

Monty Python’s Life of Brian - 7/10
Jason Bourne* - 3/10

*I only watched about half of it before giving up.

Yeah, it was really disappointing, especially given how good the first three were.

Watched Manchester By The Sea earlier today. I loved it.

Typically what happens when you run out of books but keep making movies.

To be fair, though, only the first one was the only one actually based on any of the books, and it’s a pretty loose adaptation of the first book at that. Supremacy and Ultimatum took the titles but were completely unrelated to the books content-wise.

No kidding. It was basically just more of the same, just not as good.

I only ever really liked Identity anyway, but the sequels weren’t that bad until this one, though I never saw the one with Jeremy Renner.

I will never forgive Universal for spoiling a major plot point of the second Bourne movie in the extras on the first one.

Which plot point, Wook? I haven’t watched the extras for years.

The death of a certain character.

Damn, the DVD special feature spoiled that BEFORE the movie came out?! That’s pretty low.

Not sure. Bourne Identity was one of the free discs that came with my HD-DVD player. This was around 2008. They could still have talked about the sequel without giving that plot point away.
