hey! I buy gifts and cards for my parents on Mother's day and Father's day to show them that I love them and to thank them for all that they have done for me. That companies get my money doesn't matter to me. Making my parents and grandparent happy is want is important.


Warbler, so do I. I do give my mom and dad gifts, but they don't think the way I do. It's ok by me, I don't mind buying them things, I actually like it. BUT... having the point of view I do, I refuse to accept anything at all. I have repeatedly told family and friends that I don't want them to give me things for birthday, I don't belive buying stuff is a way to show people we care. To me, a simple gesture like wishing me a happy birthday with a hug is waaay better than any $300 gift. I'm more of an emotional person than a material one, regarding other people.
