Ric, I'm not sure you got that. The whole POINT of this movie is to show why a Billionaire would don a bat cowl and fight crime. It was supposed to be psycological. And his buying the hotel was supposed to show him pretending to be a billionare playboy to take suspicion away from him being The Batman.

Also, this is the only of the five post-Crisis Batman films that focused on Batman more than the villains, which is one of the biggest gripes with the original. The only things I didn't like about Begins were all the flashbacks (I wish it would have told it more linear) and the fact that the BatSuit didn't have the yellow oval on the chest.
