The Man Who Would Be King (1975)- I thought this was a capital-G Great movie when I was 18, but revisiting it a decade later, I now think it’s just a good movie with a great cast.

I loved interstellar but it was a bit long and I couldn’t understand half of what Matthew McConaughey said. I don’t know if it was the sound mixing or what.

I simply don’t get the love for the Burton series over the other adaptations. It’s campy but not campy enough to be enjoyed like the Adam West series. It’s somewhat serious but not serious enough to be taken seriously like Nolan’s batman.

It’s fine. I tend to dislike Tim Burton, but that’s one of the handful that I don’t mind. I’m pretty sure I was born too late to really love it, though. Batman movie preferences are at least as generational as James Bond, if not moreso.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - cool movie, had the potential to be the best Harry Potter franchise movie, but failed because of a confusing plot. I really liked the characters and the part of the story where they’re looking for the lost creatures in New York, and really liked the chemistry between the characters. Unfortunately I didn’t like the Obscurus part of the plot, and honestly it felt like it belonged in a completely different movie, given the huge tone discrepancy between it and the other subplots.
Edit: I liked how it portrayed the US as super conservative 😉
That, and the whole movie looked like a cartoon.
I agree with you both and I was most put off by the generic action movie ending.
You can definitely tell that Rowling is a first-time screenwriter.

Some episodes are crawling with dust though. One wonders if the animation house left a window open on a blustery day. The producers must have pulled their hair out when the footage came back from Japan.
